Acts 16:3 King James Version (KJV)
3 Him (Timothy) would Paul have to go forth with him; and took and circumcised him because of the Jews which were in those quarters: for they knew all that his father was a Greek.
According to Matthew Henry, Paul wanted to make him more “palatable” to the Jews. Uncircumcision had already been accepted by James, Peter, and the Jewish Church. Timothy was already a respected Christian in the area. However previously, in Acts 14:5, Paul and Barnabas had failed to achieve success in either Derbe or Lystra.
Acts 14:5 King James Version (KJV)
5 And when there was an assault made both of the Gentiles, and also of the Jews with their rulers, to use them despitefully, and to stone them,
Paul’s intentions were to establish followers in Christian communities, maybe even a church, as he traveled. In this situation his success would be greater standing beside an accepted community member being both Gentile and Jew, Timothy, teaching and preaching by his side and it was.
Are we trying to make Christianity more palatable, acceptable, or satisfactory, by pandering, gratify or indulge, to a more worldly audience to increase our congregations? If we all find our “Truth” in God, Jesus, and the Bible then it seems obvious we are a group of Hypocrites.
In many of today’s Christian Churches, tolerance for homosexuality, gay marriage, abortion, and cultural attacks are accepted (see below). Sermons profess love and tolerance without mentioning sin or redemption and of course “Go and Sin no more”. The Catholic Church has removed the Second Commandment: “2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.” at the same time they split the 10th Commandment into two parts; 9 You shall not covet your neighbor’s wife. 10 You shall not covet your neighbor’s goods.

Mark 16:15-16 King James Version (KJV)
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
The Christian church, in many cases, lays behind the falling numbers in attendance and in those who believe in the Christian life and the Christian Worldview. Our resurrection rests on the backs of all who call themselves Christians, preach, teach, and educate our youth in Christian schools and everyone else with a united Christian community. Substantiate the meaning of Christian life, Christian worldview, and Christian family values, leave the social and political issues to Caesar.
